After graduating with honors from the Faculty of Mechanization of Agriculture in 1975, he was invited to work in the university.
During his work he made the way from an engineer of the research sector to the doctor of technical sciences, professor. After successful completion of postgraduate study at State Scientific and Research Technological Institute (Moscow) in 1982 he passed his thesis. Since 1986, he has combined administrative and scientific-pedagogical activity: in 1986 he was appointed as dean deputy, in 1991 he was elected as dean of the faculty, and in 1996 - director of the Institute of Mechanics and Energy. In 1997 he was awarded the academic title of professor for his great scientific and methodological work and training of teaching staff. In 2000 he successfully passed his doctoral dissertation. He manages the center of the development and implementation of advanced technologies for restoration of machine parts and the state budget topic. In 1999-2003 he was a member of Saransk City Council. Since 2005 he has been an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the European Academy of Natural Sciences.
He was also Vice-rector for innovation. (2006-2011), and presently, he is Vice-rector for scientific work (from February 2011 to the present).
He is a member of the educational council of Mordovian University, a member of the Expert Council of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles (since 2014), a member of the Scientific and Technical Councils of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Mordovia, Government of the Republic of Mordovia. He is an academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Senin P.V. is Director of the educational and research and production center of development and implementation of advanced technologies for the restoration and strengthening of machine parts, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Mordovia (2001), Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Republic of Mordovia (2003), Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Republic of Mordovia (2011), Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Mordovia (2013), Laureate and winner of international and All-Russian competitions and exhibitions, including the International Salon of Industrial Property "Archimedes" (2006-2013), the All-Russian Agricultural Exhibition "Golden Autumn" (2006-2015), the demonstration exhibition "Russian Field Day" (2006- 2010), the International Exhibition Agrosalon (2008-2013), the 2nd International Salon of Inventions "TUNIS INNOV" (2014), "For Contribution to the Development of Intellectual Property" in the nomination "Manager of the Future" (2016).

Sphere of scientific interests: problems of increasing the reliability of repaired agricultural machinery.
He supervised 2 doctors and 10 candidates of technical sciences.
Publications: 252 scientific and educational-methodical works, including 26 textbooks, reference books, monographs, 27 patents of the Russian Federation, 4 computer programs.
The number of publications in the Russian Science Citation Index is 179, the Hirsch Index in Russian Science Citation Index is 11. The number of publications in the editions of the Web of Science and Scopus is 5.
Awards:
He was awarded with honorary diplomas of the State Assembly of the Republic of Mordovia (1997, 2003, 2013), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (2003), the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Mordovia (2003), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2005), the Government of the Republic of Mordovia (2006); medals "The Best Sons and Daughters of Russia", "100 Years of Trade Unions of Russia". He has letters of appreciation from the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. He is included in the encyclopedia "The Best People of Russia".
